Founded by Michael Pobjoy in 1985 in Mississauga, Ontario, Focus International Inc. was established to actively retrofit the conventional practice of private investigation with a new, formally reconsidered and highly effective approach. Under the direction of Pobjoy, who had served in Her Majesty’s Forces and a British Police Force, the tactical military principles of surveillance, information gathering and field craft (to understand, master and be as one with the landscape), were uniquely interwoven into the Focus International approach to Private Investigation.
Mike’s extensive worldwide operational experience was at the core of his professional approach and imparted to every Investigator that was forged under his tutelage. Focus Investigators were cultivated through meticulous in-house training to thoroughly understand the value of self discipline and physical and mental fitness with continuous training alongside the proper application and deployment of appropriate techniques and technologies, in order to effectively investigate with respect to the application and administration of criminal law, civil litigation and other abstract intelligence assignments.
